The Chopstix is a direct result of NSP and some of its core team riders requesting an uncompromised high-performance shortboard, allowing them to surf at the top of their game when the surf is absolutely firing.
Designed for the best possible ride when it’s pumping, the Chopstix is a pure thruster, featuring carbon fiber tail patches and a round tail for powerful lines and general mayhem.

Design:
The shape features a clean, rounded tail with a thruster fin set-up, combined with a single concave running the length of the board and a unique low-forward rocker allowing you to get into waves early and providing massive acceleration and speed control once surfing.
The essence of the Chopstix is an absurdly predictable board for critical moments and a solid platform for driving off the tail while giving snaps and gouges a powerful feel.

Compared to the Tinder-D8, which is another high-performance shortboard in the NSP line-up, the Chopstix is the uncompromised shape of the two. Designed for hard surfing in critical conditions, the Chopstix does away with excess volume and offers its riders a rapid build-up in speed and the tools to slash away at anything from one foot to triple overheads monsters.
We decided to build the Chopstix in Shaper’s Union CSE (Custom Surf Epoxy) construction, which is our most premium construction method, and usually reserved for specific design and their unique glassing schedules.
Established to bring new energy and high-performance to the surf line-up, Shapers Union is NSP’s way to showcase the incredible skill and talent of some of the most accomplished shapers in the world.
What’s unusual about this design is that it wasn’t created by one single shaper. Instead, the team tried and refined an existing shape as a collective and with the performance requirements we had in mind for the Chopstix we simply couldn’t choose any other construction than Shapers Union.
Built with custom surf epoxy lay-up with a clear UV-stable resin and satin rub finish and combined with a CNC-cut EPS core, laminated with a full 220g biaxial 4oz deck and 6oz bottom, 4oz patches around the fin boxes, a 6mm wood stringer, bottom carbon stringer, and carbon-reinforced tail, giving you a durable longboard with great flex and performance, that feels light and responsive.
